Join us for true stories about the adventures, heroes, and misfits that shaped society by exploring and pushing the limits of the unknown. Each episode is a short story about interesting people, beautiful places, and the challenging decisions of some of history’s greatest adventures. We explore famous firsts, near misses, lost expeditions, pioneering missions, quirky events, forgotten achievements - and why they matter. Adventures highlight the extremes of the human experience. Risks amplify potential outcomes and make extraordinary moments even more fascinating. Every adventure is different, but the lessons are often timeless and universal. We profile diverse adventurers from around the world. Immerse ourselves in the context of different times in history. And, see what we can learn from hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking, traveling, mountaineering, sailing, surfing, skiing, Overlanding, flying, and more. There’s a story to almost every adventure, and we hope you are inspired and better prepared for whatever adventure lies ahead. The Adventure Almanac is brought to you by the team at Adventure Nerds. Are you ready for an adventure? Alright then, let’s go!

Friday Nov 27, 2020
Friday Nov 27, 2020
Mountaineering is a team sport. We all stand on the shoulders of giants whether we are a mountain climber or not. Hillary and Norgay completed the first summit of Mt. Everest, but this episode is less about standing on top of a mountain and more about what it takes to do hard things. Even if you are not a mountain climber, we hope you enjoy the story and learn something new.
